I have been treating chronic pain in humans for 27 years as a Registered Massage Therapist and Manual osteopath. I spcialize in chronic pain and per orthopedic surgery preparation
When Ali, (my 5 year old ridgeback) began screaming in pain from early-stage hip dysplasia, I knew I needed to step in. Hearing her cry getting into the car, or jumping into bed broke my heart. She was only 5 years old! I knew medication would not be a long-term solution.
Treatments began slowly as I took the time to educate myself in animal anatomy and physiology. Over time, I learned how to relieve her trigger points, loosen muscles and release fascial tension. It wasn’t long before her sister Emma was experiencing the same symptoms.
After 6 months I was able to decrease her medication, including natural anti-inflammatories, and rely on prevention treatments. Emma took longer to adjust to being touched in painful areas, but it wasn’t long before these 2 girls would know how to ask me for help.
